Present:
Dan & Sarah, Carl, Pam, Garry, Jan P, Gilbert, Don, Andy, Robbo, Ignacio.
Apologies:
Don, Brie, Sonya, Tina.
Correspondence:
We missed this bit at the meeting – I think we can safely assume nothing significant arrived!
Finances:
A grand total of $461 in the kitty. The only outgoing was for the hall rental.
Field Trips - Past:
03 August 2008 - Pukemiro Bush Railway, Huntly.
Myself, Wendy & Derek, Dan & Sarah met Garry, Fiona their kids at the Hopin Stopin Café for brunch before heading on to the railway. It was quiet at the site with few people and only the diesel engine running – no steam unfortunately – but it was still a very enjoyable and relaxed day. And I think every one got at least a few good images.
11 August 2008 – Te Aroha Club Visit.
Myself and a friend from Hamilton, Wendy, made the Te Aroha meeting and were warmly welcomed. The guest speaker was Albert Aanensen, a landscape photographer from Taupo. Albert ran through their judging that he had done, before showing a slideshow of his work. He photographs mainly landscapes, in slide film with stunning results, and he has also a real talent in presenting slideshows.
Albert and his wife were very nice people who enjoy getting out to various camera clubs and sharing their knowledge. We should consider getting them to one of our meetings. You can see some of Albert’s photo’s here: www.naturepl.com/bin/npl.dll/go?a=disp&pt=1&t=us\sr-loadersearch.html&si=&tc=&usp=0&_spb=0&_spe=0&_spw=0&mw=2&se=&searchtext=Albert%20Aanensen
Field Trips - Coming:
24th August (Sunday) - NZIPP Infocus Convention and Trade Show.
We’ll meet at the Trade Show at Sebel Trinity Wharf Hotel, 51 Dive Cres (along the waterfront from the main Tauranga shopping centre, almost under the bridge to the Mount), Tauranga at 11.00am and have a good look round, with a shoot somewhere afterwards and lunch at a café.
Gilbert has invited us to his place for afternoon tea before we head back.
Those leaving from Matamata meet at the Senior Citizens Hall at 10.00am to car-pool. If anyone wants to meet earlier in Tauranga, say for an early shoot and brunch, give me a call/txt on 021 512 217 by Saturday evening.

Date TBA – Return to the Early NZ Museum at Tirau. We went there a couple of years back and it’s a really interesting place, low-key and easy access to take photo’s.
Show and Tell:
We will run a show and tell section at the monthly meeting. Feel free to bring along any image you’d like feedback on, or a problem you want help with, or a processing technique you’d like to share, or your favourite or unusual piece of kit and describe why you like it so much, or a slideshow from your last holiday. The floor is yours!
