Unfortunately due to other demands on his time Dennis has resigned from the club. We want to thank Dennis for his contribution to the club during his membership, and for the time he spent this year in setting up our judging panel. We wish Dennis every success in his future endeavours and hope we will see him back with the club sometime in the future.
And a relocation:
Your esteemed editor is moving to Hamilton this month. Sonya and I will still be over to Matamata for the regular meetings and to see you all. If you’re in Hamilton feel free to call in and say Hi! Our new phone no. is 07 849 0295.
Field Trip?:
Anyone interested in joining me on a trip to the Huntly Bush Railway on June 1st? A few of us have been there before and it is a great place for photos. Free entry but there is a fee to ride the trains. Email me on caproff@movingstill.net.nz or phone 07 849 0295 if you are interested.
Sixways 2008:
This year’s event is being held in Te Awamutu on Sunday 6th July in the District Council building in Bank Street. As usual, there is a $5.00 cover charge for the day with a lucky draw etc.
Our entries have been sent away, we are doing a purely digital submission this year. Bruce Shanks is this years judge.
Auckland Festival Of Photography:
The Auckland Festival of Photography is a signature visual arts event that treasures a city abundant with great photographic talent. This fast growing annual festival programmes a multitude of exhibitions and events, encouraging more people to celebrate the art of photography through free public access. Photography is a powerful visual art form that the Festival celebrates with CULTURE, IDENTITY, ART and PARTICIPATION events. The festival celebrates photography which reflects the vital personality of Auckland and invites all residents and visitors to experience this through the lens of the camera. The full programme is online now. Festival dates are 30 MAY to 22 JUNE 2008.
This is well worth making the trip to the city to. There are lots of exhibitions to see and many events to participate in.
